Mercari fee calculator
Mercari charges one flat 10% selling fee on what the buyer pays — item price plus any shipping they cover. No separate processing fee on current listings. Enter your sale before you accept an offer.
Mercari's fees, and the date we last looked
Fees move. When they do, this table changes and the change gets logged — that's the whole maintenance promise, and it's why the number above is worth more than a two-year-old blog post.
| Fee | Rate | Charged on | Changed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Selling fee | 10% | Item price + buyer-paid shipping | Jan 2025 |
| Payment processing | Removed | No separate seller processing fee on new/updated listings | Jan 2025 |
| Buyer Protection | Buyer pays | 3.6% at checkout — not deducted from your payout | Jan 2025 |
| Instant Pay withdrawal | $3 | Optional — standard bank transfer is free | Unchanged |
The awkward questions
Does Mercari still charge 2.9% + $0.50 processing?
Not on listings created or updated after January 6, 2025. The old stacked fee is gone — sellers pay only the 10% selling fee. If your payout looks higher than an old calculator predicted, that's why.
Is the 10% fee on shipping too?
Yes, when the buyer pays shipping. The fee applies to item price plus buyer-paid shipping. If you offer free shipping, only the item price is in the fee base — but you still pay the label out of pocket.
What about Mercari Local or promoted listings?
Promoted listing spend is advertising, not a per-sale fee. Mercari Local has separate rules. This calculator models a standard shipped sale on the main marketplace.
We'll tell you when Mercari changes its fees.
Platforms change their cut quietly and you find out from a smaller payout. Pick the ones you sell on and you'll get one short email when a rate actually moves — what changed, and what it costs you per sale. Nothing else. No newsletter.
Roughly six emails a year, because that's roughly how often these fees move. Unsubscribe link in every one.
