The awkward questions
My payout was lower than this. What did I miss?
Three usual causes. One: the sale came from a Boosted listing and the checkbox above is off — that's another 8% of the item price. Two: you bought the shipping label through Depop at a different rate than the one you entered. Three: the buyer paid in a different currency and a conversion fee applied. Tick the boost box and re-enter your real label cost first.
Does Depop still take 10%?
Not from US or UK sellers. The 10% selling fee was removed in 2024 and replaced with a fee the buyer pays at checkout. The payments processing fee still comes out of your side, which is what the calculator above is subtracting.
Is the buyer protection fee coming out of my money?
No. It's added on top of your price at checkout and the buyer pays it. It makes your item look more expensive in the buyer's basket, but it does not reduce your payout — so it isn't in this calculation.
What about tax?
Not covered here, deliberately. What you owe depends on where you live, how much you sold, and whether this counts as a business for you — and getting that wrong costs more than a shipping label. This tool tells you what lands in your account. Talk to someone qualified about what happens to it after that.
Are you storing what I type?
There's nowhere to store it. The page has no backend — the arithmetic runs in your browser and your numbers only leave the page if you copy the link and paste it somewhere yourself.
How do I know the rates are current?
The date on the table is the last time a person opened Depop's fee page and compared it line by line. Every change is written down in the rate changelog. If you spot something stale before we do, tell us — that's a real email address in the footer.
