Cash App fee calculator
Cash for Business takes 2.75% on every payment you receive — no monthly fee, no per-transaction fixed charge. Simple math for side gigs that collect via $Cashtag or QR code.
Cash App's fees, and the date we last looked
Fees move. When they do, this table changes and the change gets logged — that's the whole maintenance promise, and it's why the number above is worth more than a two-year-old blog post.
| Fee | Rate | Charged on | Changed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business payment received | 2.75% | Every payment into a Cash for Business account | Unchanged |
| Personal P2P receive | Free | Not for commercial use — business account required | Unchanged |
| Standard bank transfer | Free | Cash out to linked bank (1–3 business days) | Unchanged |
| Instant transfer | 0.5%–1.75% | Optional — min $0.25, not in this calculator | Varies |
The awkward questions
Can I use my personal Cash App for business?
Cash App's terms require a Cash for Business profile for commercial payments. Personal accounts aren't meant for selling — and you won't get proper tax reporting tools.
Is 2.75% cheaper than Venmo or PayPal?
Often yes for small tickets — no fixed per-transaction fee. Venmo Business is 1.9% + $0.10 and PayPal runs higher. Zelle is free but has no seller protection.
What about instant deposit fees?
Cashing out to your bank instantly costs 0.5%–1.75% (minimum $0.25). Standard transfer is free. This calculator only models the 2.75% on money received.
We'll tell you when Cash App changes its fees.
Platforms change their cut quietly and you find out from a smaller payout. Pick the ones you sell on and you'll get one short email when a rate actually moves — what changed, and what it costs you per sale. Nothing else. No newsletter.
Roughly six emails a year, because that's roughly how often these fees move. Unsubscribe link in every one.
